  • Are hash browns vegan?

    Our new recipe Hash Browns are suitable for vegans and have the vegan symbol on pack. The front of these packs are clearly labelled ‘New Recipe’

    However please note there may still be some old recipe product in the market that is not suitable for vegans, this will have ‘may contain WHEAT, MILK’ printed on pack.

  • Are McCain roasted potatoes vegan?

    We make two varieties of roasts; one is enrobed in beef dripping and the other in goose fat, which means both our roasted potatoes are un-suitable for vegans

  • Are chips vegan?

    At McCain we follow a strict process from growing the potatoes right the way through to packaging them to ensure our chips are vegan friendly. Our manufacturing process is closely regulated to ensure we have absolute control over what goes into our products.

    The following McCain chips are vegan: naked oven chips – both straight cut and crinkle cut, home chips – all variants and quick chips – straight cut and crinkle cut. Please always refer to the packaging for your dietary needs as all allergens are highlighted in bold.

  • Which McCain products are not suitable for vegans?

    Our roast potatoes, gastro chips, hash browns and mashed potatoes are not suitable for vegans. Our roast potatoes products are either enrobed in beef dripping or goose fat. Similarly, our gastro chips are enrobed in beef dripping, whilst our mashed potato contains milk and our hash browns also may contain milk.
