Halloween treats that won't scare parents

This Halloween, if you think the kids are feasting on too many sugary sweets, these tasty treats are healthy to eat and fun to make. So why not get the kids to help, and when those ghouls come knocking, there won’t be a food fright in sight!

Frighteningly Good Carrot Finger Food

Ingredients
  • Vegetable dip
  • 4 long carrots
  • 1 medium carrot
  • softened cream cheese
  • sliced almonds(carrots washed and peeled)
Method

Fill bowl with dip. Place four long carrots (fingers) and medium carrot (thumb) like a hand reaching upwards. Cut shallow notch in tip of carrot (parent's job) then use cream cheese to fix sliced almond to each finger tip (as fingernails). Yummy!

I Need My Mummy Pizzas

Ingredients
  • Muffin halves (toasted)
  • pizza sauce
  • black olives
  • onions
  • red or green pepper
  • cheese slices
Method

Heat oven to 180C/350F. Spread pizza sauce onto muffin halves. Use olives for eyes and pepper for pupils. Lay onion and cheese across mummies as bandages. Bake for 10 minutes and serve to hungry little devils.
