Oven Chips light up the stage!

McCain oven chips were the unlikely stars of the Old Vic's 24 Hour Plays Celebrity Gala, hosted by none other than Hollywood veteran Kevin Spacey. On 10th November, writers, actors and producers were given just 24 hours to write and perform a play. But that wasn't the only challenge. Participants were given an object around which the play should be based. This year, that prop was a bag of McCain oven chips.

Stars including Ralf Little, Tom Hollander, Fiona Shaw, Rob Brydon and Kevin Spacey himself dined on McCain Homefries at a post performance VIP party. One of Britain's favourite actresses, Maureen Lipman, said "I was thrilled to get a cone of chips when I arrived at the party - I was desperate for the carbohydrates. My husband Jack was the finest chip-maker in the land so I have pretty high standards for chips and these were very good - I couldn't even tell they were oven chips."
